CANDIDATES MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OF COMPUTER SPECIALIST (OPERATIONS) TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
The IT Project Coordinator will serve as the head of the project management team for the development of PavementWorks and the IT&T Liaison, responsible for attending the quarterly IT forums, as well as the IT Governance Designee responsible for submitting project requests and the IT governance process for the division. The candidate will represent the Division's interests during the replacement process and coordinate the development with DOT's IT group. Duties will include: supervision and oversight of efforts to review business requirements, ensuring that the Division's position is accurately articulated; attending various meetings; preparation of written and oral progress reports; ensuring that high-level business requirements are translated into detailed functional specifications to facilitate high-quality project success; attending regular development meetings with IT&T, gathering and transmitting necessary information; developing plans for working out hardware solutions and their rollout; interfacing with office and operational personnel to facilitate information gathering, testing, training, and rollout processes. Conduct demos, oversee ongoing QA application testing, develop training materials and manuals, and conduct ongoing training sessions to ensure the success of application adoption. Develop and implement a rollout plan for the application end users. Supervise the management of multiple projects in order to streamline the development process. Interface with team members, the management team, the Assistant Commissioner, and the Deputy Commissioner; and perform duties related to the management of IT reporting in the Division.

Qualifications

(1) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus a certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours) with a specialization in computer operations, and three years of satisfactory, full-time large-scale mainframe computer operations or three years of satisfactory data communication network experience in a mainframe environment, one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
(2) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in "1" above, including one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
(3) A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory, fulltime experience as described in "1" above, including one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
(4) A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1," "2," or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and three years of satisfactory, full-time large-scale mainframe computer operations or three years of satisfactory data communication network experience in a mainframe environment, one year of which must have been in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
