Broward College is proud to announce the new Uniquely Abled Academy (UAA) and is currently seeking instructors in the advanced manufacturing sector.
This position provides customized training and instruction for future manufacturing employees.
Knowledge and experience in manual and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Milling & Tooling Machining and instructing adult learners.
Our school has historically provided employer-driven training solutions for our regional manufacturers. And our new UAA program, to train neurodivergent populations, will expand and enhance our community workforce to better meet the high-demand needs of our manufacturing industries.
An ideal candidate will have knowledge and training experience in subject areas such as:

โ€ข Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
โ€ข Inspection and Measurement
โ€ข Metrology and Metallurgy for the Machine Trades
โ€ข Manual Machining Experience

โ€ข Industry experience in automotive, aerospace, medical device, or other manufacturing areas
Minimum Education:
  • Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology: Drafting, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related subfield OR

  • Master's Degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Technology: Drafting, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related subfield OR

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology: Drafting, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related subfield AND appropriate industry certification or licensure AND 3 years' work experience in Engineering Field

  • Ph.D. preferred.

Minimum Experience/Training:
  • Prior college teaching experience is preferred.
  • The successful candidate must have a high level of computer literacy and a commitment to teaching.
  • The successful candidate must be willing and able to teach in both the traditional face-to-face and blended (hybrid) format.
  • All schedules require office hours, and some may require evening and/or weekend hours.

Experience with the following preferred:
  • Haas and/or Fanuc Controllers
  • National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Credentials
  • Online Tooling U resources
  • Neurodivergent populations
