Job description

Providence Staffing is seeking an experienced Network Technician to support our client in Mobile, AL. The Network Technician will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity, troubleshooting issues, and supporting users and systems in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement plans for upgrading and replacing computer hardware and software
  • Maintain full network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, UPS units, and related devices
  • Diagnose and repair network hardware; identify hardware vs. software issues through testing and troubleshooting
  • Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity
  • Perform network, hardware, and software maintenance, updates, and upgrades
  • Monitor and support wireless networks
  • Ensure all work complies with policies, procedures, codes, standards, and safety guidelines
  • Collaborate with and take direction from the Network Manager
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Technology OR two (2) years of experience installing and maintaining network hardware/software
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Microsoft and Cisco certifications preferred
  • Experience in Windows Server 2012/2016 domain environments strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of network subnets, VLAN configuration, wireless networking, and Active Directory
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with computer hardware, software, and network systems
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make sound decisions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to support non-technical users
  • Excellent customer service mindset
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
