You'll partner with the AI & Business Automation Lead and collaborate with IT, continuous improvement, and business stakeholders to build, test, and document AI-driven workflow automations used across engineering, program management, and operations - spanning rapid prototyping, agentic tool development, prompt engineering, Model Context Protocol (MCP) server configuration, vendor and tool evaluation, hands-on testing of pilot solutions, and creation of documentation and training materials that drive adoption. Ideal candidates are students in computer science, information systems, data analytics, engineering, or a related technical field with strong programming or scripting fundamentals and practical experience using modern LLM tools.

Job Responsibilities
  • Build & prototype - automation scripts, prompt workflows, and low-code/no-code solutions; proofs-of-concept for submitted use cases.
  • Agentic tools & Agent Skills - help build, configure, and refine agent skills and multi-step agent workflows; iterate on reliability and edge cases.
  • MCP servers - stand up, configure, and test Model Context Protocol servers that connect internal AI tools to business systems; evaluate community/vendor servers and contribute small in-house ones.
  • Prompt development - craft, test, and refine reusable prompts and templates for recurring business tasks.
  • Research, evaluation & testing - assess emerging AI tools and vendor solutions; execute test plans; validate AI outputs for accuracy and fitness for purpose.
  • Documentation & enablement - author user guides, wiki pages, and training content; document solution architectures, agent skills, and MCP configurations.
  • General support - triage and organize incoming idea submissions related to AI and automation.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master's program in computer science, information systems, data analytics, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least two years of academic experience with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Coursework or equivalent self-taught experience in CS, information systems, data analytics, or engineering; foundational programming or scripting ability in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C/C++, or PowerShell); ability to pick up new languages and tools quickly.
  • Hands-on use of LLMs and AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini); conceptual awareness of context windows, tokens, hallucinations, and grounding.
  • Exposure to agentic coding tools or AI agents (Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, Copilot agents); understanding of what makes a reusable "agent skill."
  • Awareness of the Model Context Protocol; bonus for any hands-on experience installing, configuring, or building an MCP server.
  • Comfort writing structured prompts and iterating on them; familiarity with common patterns (role prompting, few-shot, structured outputs).
  • Supporting tools: Git/GitHub/GitLab, VS Code, Microsoft 365, basic data fluency (CSV, JSON, SQL, or markdown); low-code platforms (Power Automate or n8n) a plus.
  • Strong written communication, curiosity, self-direction, and professional maturity to operate in a structured corporate environment.
  • Ability to support a 10-15 hours per week, onsite schedule.
