Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. UC Network Engineer to join a team supporting mission-critical network, infrastructure, and collaboration environments within the Department of Defense. This role is responsible for delivering advanced engineering services, leading complex network and collaboration initiatives, and serving as a trusted technical advisor for enterprise technology modernization efforts. This is a long-term opportunity requiring an active Secret Clearance within a hybrid environment located at Scott Air Force Base, IL (4 days onsite per week) . Responsibilities of the Sr. UC Network Engineer include: ยท Lead customer delivery engagements and provide escalation support for large-scale infrastructure, network, and collaboration solutions. ยท Design, implement, integrate, optimize, and support enterprise networking, security, data center, virtualization, and collaboration technologies. ยท Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex routing, switching, security, data center, and unified communications environments. ยท Serve as a trusted advisor to customer leadership by providing technical guidance, architecture recommendations, and strategic modernization planning. ยท Design and implement firewall policies, high-availability configurations, and secure connectivity solutions supporting voice, video, messaging, and enterprise applications. ยท Support hyper-converged and virtualized infrastructure environments hosting critical business and collaboration services. ยท Support Linux and Windows Server environments that provide services for enterprise applications, monitoring platforms, and infrastructure management tools. ยท Participate in crisis management activities, proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could impact operations or service delivery. Qualifications for the Sr. UC Network Engineer include: ยท Active Secret Clearance required. ยท Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred. ยท 8+ years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure consulting, or enterprise technology support environments. ยท Expert-level networking knowledge with advanced certifications preferred. ยท Extensive experience with enterprise routing, switching, security, and data center technologies. ยท Experience developing automation and orchestration solutions using APIs, scripting, and infrastructure automation tools. ยท Hands-on experience with Docker, version control systems, and CI/CD methodologies. ยท Experience administering and supporting Linux and Windows Server environments. ยท Strong background working with voice protocols, PSTN connectivity, and enterprise collaboration deployments.
