Job Description
Individuals employed within this professional title series are responsible for network design, analysis and resolution of complex network problems. They ensure that networks are designed and operated efficiently to meet expected service levels to support customer LANs and related devices, applications and technologies. They function as network consultants to provide guidance to customer technical contacts regarding needs assessments, network design, equipment acquisition, configuration and installation. Design elements and troubleshooting can include routing devices, servers, virtual environments, applications, network topology, wireless technologies and DNS services.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Troubleshoot and resolve network-related problems on customer networks. Analyze trends and develop plans to minimize network issues and obtain optimal performance on the customer's local area network. Prepare and update network-related documentation for use by the team, as needed. Follow a defined and approved process to evaluate new hardware, software, and procedures to better meet customer needs. Make recommendations for installation, implementation, and customer support options. Update the CRM with customer communications, steps taken, and resolution in a timely and clear manner.
Provide industry best-practices, advice, guidance, and support to customer contacts both technical and non-technical, other IT groups, and management. Provide status updates to customers and team on open issues and local area network design projects.
Travel to customer locations around the state to perform wireless and network assessments and provide onsite assistance as needed. Evaluate customer networks and provide written observations and recommendations for improvement.
Provide professional services within a defined scope at customer locations based on specific service agreements in place, local support may include network design and updates, equipment recommendations and refresh, server/software support, network backup, etc.; set up remote management according to specific site agreements.
Install, monitor, and support MOREnet remote managed services which can differ from customer to customer.
Customer Outreach: Create and deliver conference presentations, webinars or tech shares to customers and to peers.
Must reside within a 4-hour drive of Columbia, MO. Position is hybrid, includes remote work as well as required presence in the MOREnet office to attend meetings, test or configure customer equipment and perform job duties as expected.

Minimum Qualifications
-Associate's degree in Computer Networking or equivalent experience
- Strong Interpersonal skills demonstrating effective communication, both written and verbal, with customers and IT peers.
- Thorough understanding of distributed network architectures.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN principles (i.e. TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, etc.)
- Experience with router, firewall, and switch configurations
- Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude in the areas of networks, network topologies, DNS, Network Device (Chromebook/Windows/Apple, etc. configuration and connectivity), network file servers, applicable software, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to solve network infrastructure issues in a LAN/WAN environment.
- Knowledge of managed switching with VLAN integration and the ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Ability to resolve complex network issues which utilize multiple vendor platforms
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must live within four (4) hours of Columbia, Missouri; position is hybrid, includes remote work as well as required presence in the MOREnet office to attend meetings, test or configure customer equipment and perform job duties as expected.
Preferred Qualifications
BS in Computer Science preferred.
CompTIA Network+, Fortinet, Cisco, or Wireless Professional certifications preferred.
Experience with CRM, preferably Salesforce
2 or more years of on-the-job experience with Next Gen Firewall setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
Candidate who exhibits professional conduct when representing our organization in customer-facing and peer event roles.
Public speaking experience and presentation skills
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $60,000 - $84,968 Commensurate with experience
