Job Summary:

Leidos is looking for a Mid-Senior Level Network Engineer to join a highly performing agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology to support a large, complex, fast-paced program. Program execution follows DEVOPS best practices and employs robust development, test and production environments. We are using Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and test automation tools alongside a full suite of team collaboration tools in providing system engineering, development, test, integration and operational support for a program that is injecting new technology and adding advanced capabilities, while continuing to support an on-going mission and operational system.

Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will participate in the creation and ongoing maintenance of network documentation ensuring that clear, concise, and accurate information is readily available to assist with incident resolution. She/he will provide enterprise network support, working closely with the IT service provider teams to ensure customer requirements are considered and supported by the evolving LAN/WAN architecture. Responsibilities include executing the process for managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites in accordance with the System Security Plans for these systems to rapidly and accurately identify and remediate IAVAs. The selected candidate will propose, design, test, and install capabilities that are new to the environment, and will oversee the development and maintenance of technical data such as rack elevations, installation instructions, and other as-built designs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and at least 8 years of related experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.

  • Must have at least 5 years of in-depth experience with hardware/software from Cisco Systems.

  • Must have at least 5 years of in-depth experience with hardware/software from Palo Alto Systems.

  • Must have experience providing analysis, root cause diagnosis, and troubleshooting for routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Must have an in-depth understanding of IP subnetting, VLANs and the OSI layers.

  • Must have in-depth experience with various vendor networking products (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.).

  • Must have a solid understanding of different physical mediums such as copper and single mode/multimode fiber and physical connector types (RJ11, RJ45, LC, SC, ST, etc.).

  • Must be able to respond to operational issues while off duty, on an on-call basis.

  • Some travel will be required.

  • Clearance Required: Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with KG-175 and/or KG-250/KG-255 configuration and deployment.

  • Experience with VINE/GEM One.

  • Experience with SolarWinds or other similar network monitoring applications, configuration and monitoring tools.

  • Experience with VMWare 7 or higher usage and network configuration.

  • Experience with any or all of the following technologies: Cisco, Nexus/ Catalyst/ ASA/ ISR/XE/ ASA/Firepower,ISE, McAfee Sidewinder, Palo Alto, Juniper, F5, IPSEC, NAT, SCP, TFTP, BGP, vPC.

  • Experience with Cisco Call Manager server configuration and troubleshooting with integration of Instant Messaging (IMP), Cisco Meeting Server, Jabber and Unity Voicemail.

  • Managing and upgrading the Cisco Unified Communications and Collaboration infrastructure – On Premise.

  • Experience with OLT/PON.

  • Experience with and a basic understanding of TCP MTU/MSS adjustments.

  • Understanding of security using technologies as reverse proxies, cross domain solutions and load balancers.
