Location: Chicago, IL, USA
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our client's team in the IT sector. In this role, you will contribute to the design, deployment, and documentation of video solutions for mission-critical communication systems, ensuring customer satisfaction and building long-term relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Final Design and implementation of the video network including infrastructure, VMS, and camera equipment
  • Deliver professional presentations and provide customer and peer training
  • Develop and maintain engineering designs, diagrams, and bill of materials
  • Act as an external liaison for customers' general contractors and subcontractors during implementation and support phases
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or Telecommunications
  • 3 years of Video System Integration, Network Engineering, System Engineering, or Wireless Communications Experience
  • Experience with IP networking, network design methodologies, and troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
  • Certifications through CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA-Junos, Nokia NRS1, CCNA, or similar
  • Experience with switching and routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, iBGP, eBGP, M-BGP, MPLS RSVP-TE, and LDP)
  • Due to regulatory and contractual requirements, this role requires US citizenship or green card holders.
