Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton has served as the prime contractor for this program since its inception in the 1980's. We provide high-level government leaders with reliable secure voice, video, and fax communications anytime, anywhere, in any environment in support of day-to-day operations. We support a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications allowing complex national and worldwide communications. Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components. We provide integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and engineering support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions.
Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Network Architect, to join our dynamic Network and Unified Communications Architecture team in Arlington, VA. We are seeking a proactive candidate who will not shy away from writing a test plan or reading through vendor's technical documents to solve a problem and write a resolution report.
The Senior Network Architect is responsible for but not limited to:
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network architectures.
  • Provide architectural guidance for the development and implementation of network solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network outages and latency issues.
  • Utilize expertise in Cisco technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.
  • Optimize network performance to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain network security measures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide appropriate network solutions.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and Tier IV-level support for complex network issues.

Qualifications
Required:
  • An active/current Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 16 years of related experience; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • An active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Enterprise Infrastructure certification.
  • An active/current DoD 01 compliant IAT Level II certification (CCNA, Security+, etc.).
  • Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
  • The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and gather team consensus to move forward.

Desired:
  • Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with the ITIL library in support of incident and change management.
  • Experience with a maintenance ticketing system to manage incidents and problems.
  • Knowledge of Solarwinds, Splunk, and Variphy monitoring systems.
  • Previous experience supporting a government and/or Department of Defense customer.

Target Salary Range
$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
