The Network Lead will provide high-quality operational support for SWFLANT's classified and unclassified network infrastructure, including wired and wireless systems, servers, and enterprise services. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day network operations, ensuring compliance with the Statement of Work (SOW), DoD cybersecurity standards, and Cyberspace Workforce (CWF) requirements. The Network Lead directs and supports network administration, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities while serving as the technical lead for enterprise connectivity and communications systems.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily network operations, ensuring reliable and secure access to NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and associated classified/unclassified systems.
  • Install, configure, operate, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, TACLANEs, IDS/IPS, and other network appliances.
  • Support enterprise email systems, VoIP infrastructure, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core network services in accordance with DoD and SSP requirements.
  • Provide backup, recovery, and disaster recovery support in line with SSP contingency planning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues escalated from the Help Desk, coordinating with Government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Implement DISA STIGs, Navy cybersecurity requirements, and SSP enterprise secure configuration templates.
  • Test, validate, and deploy network hardware replacements, software patches, and service packs.
  • Monitor and maintain network logs, documenting system performance, changes, and maintenance actions.
  • Coordinate and participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, ensuring accurate reporting and alignment with enterprise IT initiatives.
  • Maintain network-related SOPs, documentation, and secure baselines.
  • Ensure accountability and proper handling of COMSEC equipment and cryptographic material.
  • Provide on-call support for critical services outside of normal operating hours as required.
  • Prepare and deliver required contract deliverables (CDRLs), including weekly status reports, metrics, and inventory updates.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Networking, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in network operations and administration within a DoD or enterprise IT environment.
  • Must meet DoD Cyber Workforce (CWF) requirements:
    • at a minimum level of IAT III, Per DoD 8570.01-M Work Role: DCWF Code 451, Proficiency Level: Intermediate, per DoD Directive 8140.01 and SECNAV M-5239.2.
    • Must maintain required computing environment/operating system certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, VMware)
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expertise in network architecture, administration, and troubleshooting in both classified and unclassified DoD environments.
  • Proficiency with Cisco networking technologies, firewalls, VoIP, and VDI platforms.
  • Knowledge of DoD and Navy cybersecurity requirements, including RMF, DISA STIGs, and vulnerability management processes.
  • Ability to manage enterprise services (AD, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, SQL) and maintain secure configurations.
  • Skilled in preparing technical documentation, SOPs, change logs, and system baselines.
  • Demonstrated leadership in directing network support teams and collaborating with cross-functional IT groups.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to brief technical status to both Government and contractor leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive priorities.
  • Commitment to integrity, accountability, and mission-focused service delivery.
  • Ability to travel if required
