We currently seek a Manufacturing Process Engineer to help support our Product Realization Center in our Somerset, NJ location. You will work alongside scientists, production, and quality assurance staff to increase the manufacturing readiness of new optical fiber products and fiber-based components. This role offers the opportunity to improve fabrication and measurement processes for the manufacture of new products by analyzing existing methods, implementing improvements, and creating documentation. Key aspects of the position include improving manufacturing yield, identifying equipment and process difficulties, and reducing cost.

Key qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Three or more years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
  • Three of more years' experience in data analysis for Manufacturing
  • 3D CAD software (especially SolidWorks) and mechanical designis a plus
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma practices is a plus
  • Knowledge of LabView, Python and other computer languages for automation is a plus
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to change
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Teams, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
  • Discretion when working with confidential and proprietary information
