Job description

Computer Operations is a 24/7/365 operation. Associates must be willing and able to work rotating days off and/or non-standard work shifts, including evenings, overnight, holidays, and weekends. This position is for 3rd shift working 12:00am - 8:30am.
Computer Operators Level I is responsible for monitoring all network systems, servers, applications and communications that service the Store Support Center, Distribution Centers, Store Operations and Disaster Recovery.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support all enterprise systems, performing system monitoring, troubleshooting, escalation, and issue resolution
  • Ensure all jobs on the iSeries run in a timely manner, perform troubleshooting and follow established escalation procedures
  • Initiate and monitor tasks related to daily run sheets, and job processing schedules
  • Responsible for monitoring, coordinating, documenting and tracking system backups
  • Manage and control all access to the Data Center suite to ensure the integrity of the facility while allowing maintenance and upgrades to be completed
  • Monitor environmental systems within the Network Operations Center and Data Centers
  • Manage Incidents and Service Requests via ServiceNow to ensure service level agreements (SLA) are met
  • Perform user provisioning and de-provisioning tasks per approved requests
  • Provide support to users and remote distribution centers
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in the installation and decommissioning of data center network and server hardware
  • Other tasks as assigned

Other Responsibilities:
  • Placing service calls/ticket with support vendors for data center equipment (HVAC, UPS, Generator) and PC/Server hardware
  • Assist Data Center Operations Manager with special projects that may be assigned
  • Required shift work and weekends. Willing to work overtime as required. Must be flexible to take on additional shifts when necessary

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to work and carry out duties independently
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Understanding and interest in continuous process improvement
  • Customer oriented attitude and desire to help others succeed
  • Ability to perform duties quickly and efficiently, to ensure support of business-critical systems and applications
  • Ability to communicate with end users and associates effectively with verbal, visual and listening skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds to a height of 3-4 feet. Must be able to bend, kneel, and sit properly to install/de-install servers and network equipment out of racks
