Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital in Stevens Point, WI is seeking a Security Officer to join our team!

The Security Officer strives to provide a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors at Aspirus Health locations while following policies & procedures. Interacts with other Security Officers and hospital staff to provide a quality security service. Demonstrates decision- making and critical thinking skills.

HOURS: Part Time; 0.6 FTE or 48 hours per pay period. Night Shift.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of security procedures and standards is normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • An Associate’s or Technical School degree in Police Science or current student in Police Science program desired.

  • Security experience/training or background is beneficial.

  • Possesses and maintains a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required.

  • Demonstrated ability in use of N95 or PAPR (Powered Air Purified Respirator) and other precautionary equipment.

  • Must have the ability to be flexible in work hours including shift and days. May be required to work any shift or day, weekend, and holidays. May be required to work overtime without advance notice.

  • Possesses demonstrated problem-solving skills.

  • Possesses ability to operate computerized equipment, two-way radio, personal computer and related software.

  • Possesses outstanding communication skills such as tact, diplomacy and de-escalation. Demonstrated effective communication skills including telephone etiquette and writing routine correspondence, logs and reports. Possesses ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

  • Possesses and provides excellent customer service skills. Demonstrates self-restraint in challenging and/or difficult situations as well as maintains professional composure during emergency or in pressure circumstances.

  • Must be able to work in inclement weather and in weather extremes.
