About the Role:
  • This position is responsible for general facility, building and equipment maintenance and repair, both scheduled and unscheduled tasks, as assigned by the Call Center and/or Facilities and Maintenance management. In general, tasks that will be completed include: Work Order completion, Preventative Maintenance completion, problem identification and resolution, design of minor mechanical systems, determination of material and supplies required for problem resolution, documentation of activities, utilization of the Computer Maintenance Management System, and communicating with the department’s management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs minor mechanical systems and/or system alterations and plan specifications utilizing data and standard engineering practices.
  • Determines specialized equipment and components to be used in the alteration of mechanical systems.
  • Determines project scope of work, schedules, manpower, material, equipment, etc. to perform and complete tasks. 
  • Maintains work areas, equipment rooms, and tools so as to be operational, clean and orderly, per departmental guidelines.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks as assigned and assists any higher departmental job classification as assigned. 
  • Documents work activity both by written means and electronically by use of the Computer Maintenance Management System, per departmental guidelines. 
  • Mentors newly assigned employees.
  • Coordinates mechanical work schedule with other trade mechanics such as electricians, HVACR mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, etc. to ensure timely completion of tasks/projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Associate's degree preferred
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years of Journeyman level experience, moderate computer skill level, training and/or experience in and working knowledge of 120v/208v/277v/460v Electrical,  training and/or experience in and working knowledge of pump repair and motor alignment,  training in and working knowledge of compressor/vacuum pump repair.,working knowledge of mechanical codes and OSHA regulations
  • Certification/Licensure: Journeyman Certificate/License in the mechanical field (HVAC, Plumbing, etc. ) is preferred. Full MD driver's license including good driving record.

Must be available for emergencies during off hours.
