Campus Literacy Instructional LeadJOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 04/07/2026 CLOSING DATE: 05/28/2026 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 052671 LOCATION: Milam Elementary - 105 POSITION TITLE: Campus Literacy Instructional Lead
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Support student achievement in reading and writing by providing instructional coaching to teachers and delivering targeted reading and writing interventions to students. Work collaboratively with campus leadership to strengthen Tier 1 instruction and implement effective Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions aligned with campus and district goals. This role is split equally between building teacher capacity (50%) and providing direct intervention services to students (50%).
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Partner with teachers to strengthen core literacy instruction across reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  2. Support and ensure effective implementation of the District's High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM).
  3. Cultivate a positive instructional culture by guiding teachers in planning, delivering, and assessing rigorous, standards-aligned language arts instruction.
  4. Lead and support the lesson internalization process to ensure purposeful, student-centered planning.
  5. Model effective literacy practices and co-teach in classrooms to demonstrate high-impact instructional strategies.
  6. Provide non-evaluative, job-embedded coaching through observation, feedback, co-teaching, and collaborative lesson design that centers teacher voice and reflection.
  7. Facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on data-driven instruction and continuous improvement.
  8. Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions, monitor progress, and identify trends.
  9. Support teachers in differentiating instruction to meet the diverse academic and linguistic needs of all learners.
  10. Provide targeted small-group and/or individual reading and writing interventions for students identified through MTSS/RtI processes.
  11. Maintain accurate records of intervention services and progress data.
  12. Develop and implement intervention plans aligned to grade-level standards.
  13. Assist in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
  14. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of intervention data.
  15. Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with core instruction.
  16. Participate in MTSS/RtI meetings and contribute data to inform student placement and instructional adjustments.
  17. Communicate student progress with families as appropriate.
  18. Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and support strategies.
  19. Stay current with research and best practices in literacy instruction and intervention.
  20. Support school-wide literacy initiatives and family literacy events.
  21. Maintain condidentiality.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Experience providing reading and writing intervention services
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in elementary education, literacy, or related field
  • Valid state teaching certification in applicable grade levels

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Demonstrated expertise in literacy instruction and assessment
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and MTSS frameworks
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Deep understanding of reading development, writing instruction, and literacy assessment
  • Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with staff and students
  • Skill in facilitating adult learning and professional growth
  • Strong organizational and data management skills
  • Ability to balance coaching and direct service responsibilities effectively
  • Strong working knowledge of technology platforms utilized to analyze data, implement curriculum, and provide feedback for teachers (Branching Minds, HQIM resources, etc.)
