Job description

Simple Laboratories is looking for a full-time Lab Tech to join our Laboratory Operations' Microbiology team. The Lab Tech performs routine and analytical tasks for Micro lab to ensure the accuracy and quality of the data provided to clients on a daily basis while assisting in sample processing, analysis, recording data and maintaining laboratory cleanliness and laboratory equipment.
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturdays with alternating weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Medical lab Technician /Technologist are responsible for accurately processing, analyzing and reporting laboratory results with limited supervision while maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Must understand quality control monitoring, computer applications, troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
  • Perform a variety of routine and special laboratory procedures as authorized by the Manager or Director including rotation through at least three (3) areas of the Clinical Lab: Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Immunology/Serology, and Microbiology.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and instruments; record data and maintain equipment.
  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
  • Use universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from bio-hazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology or Chemistry. MLS, MLT license / certificate, ASCP/AMT.
  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical laboratory experience.
