Job description

Job Description – Teaching Assistant

Read Write Learning Center is seeking a dependable Teaching Assistant who is passionate

about empowering struggling learners and ready to make a difference in the lives of our

students. The Assistant will supervise a small group of students from 12:30 pm-2:30 pm and

then serve as receptionist for other students attending afterschool tutoring sessions from 2:30-

5:30 pm Monday-Thursday. Start time is firm but ending time is somewhat flexible and can be

customized to applicant’s schedule.


Job Duties:

• Lead our Read Write Academy students during their recess, study hall, and computer

lab time.

• Monitor afternoon schedule and guide students to the correct instructors/offices.

• Assist Montgomery Operations Lead in solving any problems that might arise with

student or instructor schedules.

• Help with other administrative tasks such as running copies or filing, as needed.

• Build positive relationships with students and maintain an environment conducive for

learning.

• Create a warm and welcoming environment for students and parents.


Ideal Candidate:

• Passionate about helping kids.

• Experience managing small group of elementary age students successfully.

  • Interventionist/Paraprofessional teacher

• Strong technology skills. Comfortable helping students use learning software such as

IXL and audiobooks.

• Reliable and punctual.

• Friendly.


Compensation: $10-$20/hour
