Family Medicine Residency Program Faculty Development Fellowship opportunity in Moultrie Georgia - 35 miles to Albany, GA; 60 miles to Tallahassee, FL Position Details

  • Seeking a highly motivated Fellow for our newly developed Faculty Development fellowship.
  • An ideal candidate for the FM faculty development fellowship will be an experienced physician or a recent graduate with a strong desire to work in medical education or academic leadership and an interest in learning the foundational principles of graduate medical education with the goal of becoming an effective and efficient faculty member.
  • This Fellowship opportunity is excellent preparation for candidates whose professional goals include teaching family medicine or gaining valuable GME experience needed to pursue a leadership role in a primary care organization.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8am 5pm; on average 2 clinic days, 1 precepting day, and dedicated administration time for GME education per week.
  • Call: No overnight call required unless desire to participate in optional OB or inpatient adult medicine coverage.
  • Duties:
  • - Candidate will personally provide FM full spectrum continuity patient care in our outpatient clinic. - Candidate must enthusiastically participate in the education of residents through precepting, didactic lectures, and collaboration with core faculty on program projects, supporting program development and innovation, and creating and delivering curriculum. - While GME faculty experience is not required, the position requires candidate is passionate about teaching and supervising residents who are learning to provide the full spectrum of Family Medicine, AND have an interest in learning the foundational principles of graduate medical education with the goal of becoming an effective and efficient faculty member. - Position requires teaching and supervising residents providing low risk prenatal care and post partum care. - Position offers opportunity for teaching and supervision of residents in the delivery of in-patient care and low risk obstetrics. - Fellows will also participate in a structured Faculty Development Curriculum with assigned activities and online course work with faculty instructors and feedback to reinforce learning.
  • Patient Volume: an average of 10-12 patients per half day in clinic
  • Hospital Facilities: physicians lounge with meals provided; 24-hour all-access employee fitness center; simulation labs, a skills lab, a computer lab, a conference center, and more!

  • Valid Georgia Medical License or participation in Interstate Medical Licensure Compact
  • Must be in good standing with current employer or residency/fellowship program
  • Position requires teaching and supervising residents providing full spectrum Family Medicine in an outpatient setting.
