Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary:
The Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems is hiring undergraduate research assistants to work on specific tasks related to sponsored research on field monitoring and sampling, laboratory testing, data analysis, and/or computer modeling. The undergraduate research assistant would work with a graduate student, research professor, and/or professor to complete both lab and field work to support stormwater research. Laboratory work may include acid-washing glassware, maintaining a safe and clean lab, and preparing samples and equipment. Field work may entail helping graduate students with maintaining their field sites, collecting samples, and installing/maintaining equipment. Data analysis and computer modeling may include working with Excel, Matlab, and other computer software.
Requirements:
Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions. Able to work well both independently and as part of a team. Has critical thinking and problem solving skills in order to work safely in the lab and develop novel methods. Science or Engineering major preferred, but not required. Previous laboratory experience preferred (for example, general chemistry course or general biology course is acceptable.) Must be 18 years of age or older.
