Role Summary:

Performs routine and non-routine sample extraction and analysis of food and food ingredient samples for nutritional testing, proximate or contaminate testing. 

 What you'll do:

  • Perform analytical testing of food and food ingredient samples using laboratory techniques per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify, communicate and document non-conformities related to daily activities.
  • Ensure sample turnaround time goals and other key performance indicators are met. 
  • Perform and support routine laboratory maintenance tasks such as sample archiving, equipment monitoring and verifications, waste disposal and cleaning (lab and labware).
  • Ensure accurate and complete traceability and documentation of testing activities performed.
  • Identify and assist with implementation of process improvements.
  • When required, assist with troubleshooting, implementation of corrective actions and method validation activities as directed by assigned staff.
  • For methods within area of responsibility provide training for other laboratory staff.
  • Adhere to lab safety procedures and reporting standards.
  • Follow written Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. 
  • Other duties may be assigned to assist with the operations of the lab.
