JOB SUMMARY

The IT Summer Student Assistant will provide technology support in various IT departments on the South Orange campus at Seton Hall. The position seeks student technicians, computer lab consultants, and administrative assistants to work during the summer months.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical/administrative support to the Seton Hall community for laptops, printers, and media equipment related issues and inquiries.

Data entry and update of asset management database

Perform administrative tasks related to IT support operations

Perform regular maintenance checks on printers and other IT equipment

Deliver IT equipment to various locations on campus.

Update JIRA tickets to track and communicate the status of support requests.

Assist computer lab patrons with software related inquiries (lab consultant)

Interact with users of the Seton Hall community who visit the technical support area and guide them on queries and issues related to hardware and software (technician only)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a current Seton Hall student

Currently enrolled as a student at Seton Hall University

Good academic standing.

Strong technical skills and ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues (technicians).

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Prior experience in IT support or related roles is preferred.

Familiarity with JIRA or similar ticketing systems is a plus.

Work Schedule:

The position is for the summer period.

Work hours may vary based on the needs of the department and the availability of the student worker no more than 29 hours per week
