About This Role

Preparatory Library Media Specialist Position


We are seeking a dedicated individual who shares our Christian values, is passionate about education, and possesses excellent communication, technical writing, and organizational skills. As a key member of our team, this role will provide the opportunity to grow and contribute to our mission.


The Library Media Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school library and computer lab, creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students and staff. This includes managing library resources, maintaining a well-organized collection, and providing support for research, reading, and technology-based learning. The specialist will also supervise the computer lab, assist students and teachers with technology needs, and help integrate digital literacy skills into classroom instruction.


What You'll Do
  • Manage the daily operations of the school library and computer lab to create a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Maintain and update library collections, ensuring they are organized and accessible to students and staff
  • Provide research and library support to students, including locating materials and using digital tools
  • Collaborate with teachers to recommend resources and integrate technology-based learning into instruction
  • Supervise computer lab scheduling, equipment usage, and student activity
  • Offer basic technology support to students and staff, including troubleshooting and equipment maintenance
  • Teach or assist with lessons on digital citizenship, research skills, and media literacy
  • Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate repairs or replacements of library and computer lab equipment
  • Develop and promote reading programs, literacy events, and technology-based activities
  • Track circulation and maintain records for library systems
  • Enforce school policies related to library and computer lab behavior and technology use

Requirements
