QC Laboratory Supervisor (2nd shift)ย

Overview of this Position:

The Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor supports and manages quality systems as they relate to the manufacturing and testing of cGMP drug products.


Hours for this position are 4:00 pm to 12:30 am, Monday - Friday with weekend support necessary depending on the production schedule.ย 


Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and/or other related discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Biotechnology) a minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical or testing experience.ย 
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of physical, chemical, and instrumental analysis of raw material, active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients and finished pharmaceutical products.ย 
  • Experience with various types of laboratory instruments including: HPLC, UHPLC, UPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, etc.
  • Candidate should understand and have experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing and analytical laboratories in regulated environments under FDA, ICH, and EMA guidelines.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage day to day prioritization of routine, in-process, stability, and finished product work.ย 
  • Supervises lab personnel, including staff performance and creation of staff schedules to ensure over-time/weekend coverage for manufacturing support.ย 
  • Work with management to maintain working schedule of all work flowing through the QC Analytical Lab.ย 
  • Comply with all laboratory safety guidelines, both written and implied. Inform management of any safety concerns.ย 
  • Lead training of all new employees and maintain all training documentation via current system.ย 
  • Support the OOS system, Laboratory Investigations, and assist in any related CAPAs, non-conformances, etc.ย 
  • Work with management to deliver staff performance evaluations, develop individual goals, address performance and progress via routine 1x1 meetings.ย 
  • Oversight of all laboratory chemical and equipment use.ย 
  • Establish and maintain good technique with regards to working in an aseptic environment.ย 
  • Independently author or edit internal test methods and standard operating procedures.ย
