Manufacturing Engineering
Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Department of Manufacturing Engineering as a Lab Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities

• Performs general shop housekeeping duties, ensuring a clean and organized work environment
• Cleans and services equipment as needed
• Programs CNC machines to support various projects and research
• Assists with the operation of additive manufacturing printers
• Prints parts for students and faculty in the Additive Manufacturing Lab
• Maintains and services the 3D printers
• Assists with light welding and fabrication tasks on an as-needed basis for various projects

Shift Specifics

• Up to 20 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of CNC, 3D Printing, Welding, Electronics and CAD/CAM are desirable

Proposed Salary
$10.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
