Responsibilities

Assists the technical and transcription staff in one (1) or more of the laboratory areas.  Performs specimen preparatory functions.  Also provides clerical and technical support in Pathology.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and apply accurate procedures in specimen handling and clerical processing.
  • Has good communication and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to provide accurate information and instructions.
  • Has strong computer keyboarding skills.
  • Preferred: 

  • One (1) year experience as a Lab Technical Assistant in a clinical or pathology laboratory.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use and application of computers.
  • ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED FOR FLOW CYTOMETRY and MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS LABORATORIES only 

  • Two (2) year experience in specimen collections, specimen processing and specimen requisitioning for a clinical laboratory or health care delivery system
  • Hold a two (2) year degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or a health related specialty.
  • Work Hours (EX:7AM-7PM):7:30 am- 4:00pmWeekend Requirements:NoEmployment Type: FULL_TIME
