MDH Anne Arundel County Department of Health, Annapolis MD 21401\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide managerial level direction for multiple information technology activities and staff within the Bureau of Administration, specifically Operations. This position directs and manages the work of the Information Technology program for the Anne Arundel County Department of Health. The position supervises a staff of 7 employees and manages an annual operating budget of $600,000 and total Department Information Technology Services assets of $8 million. The position functions as Security Officer for the entire Department's electronic data.\r\n\r\n\r\nThis position is designated as Emergency Essential.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or another information technology-related field, including coursework in local or wide area networks.\r\n\r\n\r\nQualified candidates must also possess five (5) years of experience planning, integrating, and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area networks. This experience must include at least three (3) years of experience supervising information technology staff, such as desktop and network support technicians, database administrators, or software programmers.\r\n\r\n\r\nNote: Thirty (30) credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other technology-related field (including course work in local or wide area networks) may be substituted for the required education.\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Desired candidates should possess the following:\r\n- Demonstrated recent leadership experience directing an information systems unit, including budget and planning.\r\n- Experience designing, implementing, and managing a Local Area Network, as well as managing secure access to cloud-based applications.\r\n- Experience with State of Maryland technology.\r\n- Direct supervision of information technology staff.\r\n- Knowledge of and experience with Informatics.\r\n
