The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
  • Analyze existing CNC machining manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement, including workflow and resource utilization
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the grind shop.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/ Kaizen) to reduce waste, drive cost-savings, and enhance quality.
  • Troubleshoot production issues in the grinding operation, perform root-cause analyses, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with production associates, quality department, maintenance and other areas for new product development initiatives and qualification plans as required by customers.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering Discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • One (1) year of experience with SolidWorks and/or Auto CAD
  • Familiarity with CNC machining operations and CMM machining and programming
  • Five (5) years of Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Effective communication and teamwork across functional teams

Travel: May include up to 5-10% domestic
