Job description

Responsibilities
Position Overview:
As a Manufacturing Engineer here,you'll be part of our engineering team working as an onsite employee at ourColumbia, CT location.
Key Responsibilities:
' Develop, evaluate and improvemanufacturing processes for new and existing products and processes.
' Research customer specifications, andnew processes.
' Troubleshoot existing shop floorprocesses, tools, and equipment.
' Design tooling for new and improvingexisting processes.
' Produce engineering drawings for newproducts.
' Interact with customers, operators,sales reps and vendors.
' Review and implement manufacturingdrawing and engineering change notices.
' Evaluate data and productspecifications to determine the feasibility of product proposal.
' Analyze data and reports to determineif design meets specifications.
Reduce waste and increasecapacity/efficiency through application of continuous improvement tools (i.e.structured problem solving, setup reduction, organization and standardizationof machining centers, mistake-proofing in tool/fixture design).
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
' 3+ years of process/manufacturing engineering experience ispreferred in applying advanced engineering principles in a metal formingmanufacturing environment.'
' Working knowledge of manufacturing methods, concepts, processes,and systems.
' Solid analytical skills and the ability to define and brainstormsolutions to problems.
' Training in Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement Toolspreferred.
' Product prototyping, qualification and/or testing experiencepreferred.
' Familiarity with ISO 9000 or AS9100 quality standards preferred.
' Working knowledge of CAD software, SolidWorks, and/or NX ispreferred.
