Job description

Title: MES Technician/Technician II
Location – West Point, GA 

Duration : 3+ month Contract to Hire role
Note: Must be open to multiple shifts as we do a rotation every few months.

Essential functions:

  • Monitor and respond to problems with MES & Glovis GGA computer systems. This includes covering phone and radio calls from production and maintenance.
  • Complete periodic checklists regarding MES & Glovis GGA computer systems.
  • Promptly respond to and resolve issues and requests as they arise.
  • Work with other Analysts and other MES team members to resolve issues.
  • Escalate issues as per MES escalation standards
  • Work in both a control room and on the plant floor.
  • Work overtime as needed to support production as well as projects
  • Reconfigure and replace computers, scanners, and printers as they fail.
  • Attend some holidays and the summer shutdown period to perform preventative maintenance of computers and MES equipment throughout the plant.
  • Assist customers with installations and modifications regarding MES systems. This includes: computer installation, scanner installation and computer repair.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 2+ years of IT experience.
  • Strong computer troubleshooting, hardware, and software support
  • Experience with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, Web Browsers, and taking phone calls
  • Experience with building computers, imaging computers or installing Windows
  • Must be able to think analytically
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to interact positively with internal and external customers.
  • CompTIA A+ preferred
  • Must be able to work shift rotation
