Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, IT management, software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, applied engineering, health information management (HIM), health informatics, nursing informatics, nursing, health science, education, business administration, health care, or a related field.
  • Human Resources (HR) may accept directly related work experience on a 1-year:1-year basis for required education. [NOTE: Experience credited in lieu of formal education will not be credited toward the minimum experience requirement below (i.e., the same experience will not be counted twice).]

Required Experience:

  • Four (4) years of directly related professional experience

Other Qualifications: Communication skills (critical). Problem-solving skills (critical)

Required Certification/License/Registry:

  • Related Epic certification(s) required. Multiple certifications may be required depending on functional area and job responsibilities. Required certification(s) must be obtained within ninety (90) days from last class completion. If a required certification is not obtained after three (3) examination attempts, the incumbent has a period of thirty (30) days after the last examination attempt to apply for other job opportunities within the organization. If unable to acquire another position within the organization, the incumbent’s employment with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. (TMH) ends.

Responsibilities

Job Summary: 

  • Application systems expert in multiple or highly specialized phases of application systems analysis, design, implementation, and support.
  • Formulates, defines, and performs complex analysis, design, and implementation of enterprise-wide information systems (IS) functionality.
  • Responsible for Epic application modules and third party applications; designs and, customizes tables and screens; builds databases; and tests, “debugs,” upgrades, and documents information systems’ functionality under department management’s supervision.
  • Utilizes and applies knowledge of process-flow analysis and major business automation functions to evaluate such needs.
  • Designs and implements highly complex solutions using a variety of technologies in a supportable and scalable manner.
  • Mentors IT/Application Svcs Analysts.
  • Provides a secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patients’ experiences.
