Job description

Summary

The IT - Information Technology intern will assist Buckeye Power IT and Cardinal Operating Company staff with a variety of projects for Buckeye Power and Ohio's Electric Cooperatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Computer hardware and software deployment
  • End user support
  • Asset inventory management
  • Workstation imaging
  • Client patching and vulnerability mitigation
  • Review of system alerts and incident response
  • Create and update documentation
  • Application development and report creation
  • Other projects as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related degree program

Experience:  No prior work experience required.

Abilities & Skills:

  • Strong oral and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Ability to organize work, fulfill defined projects.
  • Must be comfortable asking questions when uncertain or unclear about work projects.
  • Must be dependable and able to demonstrate a sense of responsibility and urgency.
  • Open to feedback and constructive criticism

Physical Requirements

This position involves sedentary work, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work with hands and fingers; push, pull, reach, lift objects; communicate with others to exchange information; and hear.  The employee must have close visual acuity to analyze data, perform inspections, and view computer monitors; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.

Work Environment

Work outside normal business hours is required on occasion.  This position is primarily in an office environment and not substantially exposed to adverse conditions.
