Position Summary
The Health, Safety & Env Specialist II provides expertise in the development, implementation and management of effective Safety, Health and Environment programs/systems. Routinely analyses hazardous situations and identifies alternative courses of action.
Key Responsibilities;
  • Works to develop, implement and maintain Health, Safety and Environmental programs/procedures.
  • Performs audits and safety inspections of work environments, processes and operations in compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensures all applicable registrations, permits and licenses are in place and current; disposes of hazardous materials per regulations.
  • Leads the safety committees, analyses hazardous situations and identifies alternative courses of action, while empowering members to achieve departmental safety goals and objectives
  • Gathers data for the purpose of identifying, reducing, or eliminating sources of pollutants and/or hazards that affect the work environment and health of the employees.

Bachelor's Degree or experience equivalent. Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Ability to research and analyze data effectively
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
  • Good/Strong/Excellence verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, procedures and standards policy and procedure development techniques
