Systems Analyst - Medicaid Systems
Location: Columbia, SC Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
Duration: 12+ Months
Employment Type: Contract (C2C / W2)
Experience Required: 5+ Years

Candidate Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense.
Project Scope:
Seeking a Systems Analyst to support operations of a legacy Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) and related applications. The role involves system support, reporting, business analysis, and testing while acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide operational and technical support for MMIS and related healthcare systems.
• Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and distribute reports and datasets for operational monitoring, reconciliation, and processing.
• Troubleshoot and support mainframe-based healthcare systems.
• Perform system analysis, testing (QA/UAT), and defect tracking for system enhancements.
• Monitor vendor requests and coordinate issue resolution with technical teams.
• Identify risks, analyze system issues, and recommend solutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 3+ years experience in Medicaid or healthcare payer systems.
• Knowledge of MMIS operations, claims, and provider systems.
• Proficiency in COBOL and mainframe environments.
• Experience with EDI transactions and companion guides.
• Experience supporting Medicaid eligibility or enrollment systems
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with data analysis tools such as SAS, Excel, and reporting tools.
• Ability to prepare technical and operational reports.
• Understanding of MMIS operations and healthcare data workflows.
Education:
bachelor's degree in Technical, Business, Healthcare field, or equivalent experience in systems analysis or development.
