Job description

The Field Technician is responsible for performing service and repair work on equipment while working both independently and as part of a team. This role requires the ability to accurately evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair earthmoving equipment in the field and in shop environments. The Field Technician must successfully complete on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and e-learning. Successful candidates demonstrate initiative, strong teamwork, a commitment to customer service, and a dedication to providing efficient, effective solutions.
Advancement in Technician classification is based on attitude, skill development, and overall job performance.
Essential Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Adheres to and follows all applicable and required safety standards and procedures.
  • Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.
  • Performs the following tasks on engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble; minor adjustments as needed for service.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrates proper use of service information systems
  • Orders and return parts for assigned jobs in timely manner
  • Test and adjust components for optimal performance
  • Works independently in the field as required
  • Must have a valid driver's license to be eligible for hire.

Education

Experience
  • A minimum of one (1) year's work experience involving mechanical repairs or a combination of relevant experience and equivalent technical education required.
  • Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills required.
  • Med Card and CDL preferred.
  • MVR (required)

  • Intermediate engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic, and repair skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
