How you'll contribute
A Systems Analyst who excels in this role:
  • Identifies opportunities to improve business processes through the effective use of information technology.
  • Provides technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to user departments in evaluating, selecting, installing, and supporting automated information systems.
  • Assists with analyzing, specifying, reviewing, and implementing the hospital's information systems.
  • Manages the telephone system, including installation, maintenance, and support.
  • Plans and coordinates services related to PCs and peripherals, printers, telephone and wireless phone systems, cable plant infrastructure, and Nurse Call.
  • Analyzes business processes and data to identify opportunities to automate and improve existing processes through information technology.
  • Provides telephone services to internal and external customers to ensure telecommunication needs are met.
  • Installs and maintains in-house PCs, printers, scanners, network components, mobile carts, and time clocks.
  • Manages automated systems, including implementation, vendor coordination, system interfaces, problem identification and tracking, custom reporting, conversion issues, user training, and ongoing system review and maintenance.
  • Maintains and applies knowledge of financial, clinical, and office automation applications and related computer systems.
  • Performs departmental needs analyses to determine appropriate levels and degrees of computer system automation.
  • Provides application- and system-level support.
  • Provides hardware support as needed.
  • Serves as a consultant to management, providing decision support for initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Serves as a key customer contact for inquiries and the resolution of customer issues.

What we're looking for
Education:
  • Associate degree or equivalent in Electronics.

Skills & Experience:
  • Prefer 3-4 years electronic repair experience on PCs and PC based equipment.
  • Vendor-specific training required for supported hardware devices.
  • Two years' recent experience in a hospital information systems department. Experience in evaluating, selecting, and/or installing automated information systems.
  • Prefer experience with multiple systems running on various platforms.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Formal training or direct experience with personal computer systems and applications including spreadsheets, word processors, and databases.
  • Formal training or direct experience with the Windows desktop and server platform required.
  • Knowledge of networks, client-server computing, help desk, HTML, and other computing platforms helpful but not required.
  • Vendor-specific training will be required for nurse calls system and phone switch.
