Job Description SummaryPerforms reporting duties using various reporting tools, duties include requirements documentation, design, creation, testing, maintenance, and distribution of database reports and dashboard applications for court staff and programs. Provides support in the areas of data management, report generation, data extracts, basic statistical analysis, dashboard development, and data relationships. Executes functional testing for new or modified reports, dashboards, and a variety of business applications.
This is a classified position that reports to the Manager, Business Systems Analysis, Application Development & Reporting. The incumbent performs duties under general supervision and has no supervisory responsibilities.Job Description
Hiring Rate: $66,536- $79,843 Annually
This is an on-site position located at 240 N. Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701 and no relocation assistance will be provided.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree with a major in math, computer science, management information systems, or a related field, and five years of work experience in database report generation; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education approved by Human Resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced level skills and work experience in Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SQL stored procedures, and Microsoft SSRS. Work experience creating business data applications and scripts in Microsoft PowerApps.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepares reports, data extracts, and dashboard applications with a high degree of complexity using various reporting technologies like Microsoft SSRS, SQL queries, and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Conducts analysis of business procedures and processes to determine current and future data needs.
  • Documents report requirements captured during analysis sessions with stakeholders.
  • Performs all end-to-end duties in support of report specification, design, creation, maintenance, and deployment.
  • Provides specific expertise and guidance in the creation of modern business intelligence dashboards that utilize conditional formatting, drill downs, slicers, sub-reports, advanced filtering, cross tabs, tiles, and modern graphic visualization objects.
  • Conducts functional testing and data validation activities supporting modified and/or new reports, ad-hoc data extracts, dashboards, and other business applications.
  • Collaborates with end users such as directors, managers, project managers, outside agencies, and database administrators to identify data needs and reporting solutions.
  • Evaluates stored procedures and applies SQL changes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and performance.
  • Troubleshoots SQL code to resolve data and/or formatting issues reported by stakeholders.
  • Researches any number of complex technical issues, for example database connectivity issues, configuration issues with environments, code problems within stored procedures/SQL, and software/OS version compatibility issues.
  • Provides expertise in case management systems that leverages an understanding of data relationships and business practices to produce complex reports.

Additional Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Provides dashboard overview to judicial staff as required.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge of:

Must have:

  • Knowledge with scripting languages and automated SQL Server jobs/agents.
  • Knowledge with data migration methods and data warehousing concepts.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft SQL
  • Advanced skills in software reporting and business intelligence tools such as SSRS and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Advanced skills consolidating complex data relationships located within files, multiple tables/views, and multiple databases into user-friendly reports and dashboards.
  • Current skills in Microsoft Visual Studio and applying SQL logic within stored database procedures.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of employees including judicial and administrative personnel, IT management, and colleagues.
  • Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively solve technical problems using modern web-based research techniques.

Licenses and Certificates:

  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License at time of appointment.

Physical/Sensory Items:

Typically performs duties in a court environment and may lift materials and/or equipment 20 lbs or less. Occasional after hours and weekend hours are required to support system implementations and deployments.
