Job description

Job Summary The IT Analyst Sr II is a senior-level position responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining information technology systems, data historians, and software applications. This role involves working closely with operational and business stakeholders to translate business needs into robust, scalable technical solutions. The IT Analyst Sr II troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues across the Process Intelligence & Telematics landscape while providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with operational teams to define and document business processes, participate in solution design, and execute system changes to drive process improvements.
  • Lead the assessment, configuration, recommendation, and deployment of process intelligence functionality to optimize quarrying and production operations.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of business and IT professionals to research and integrate advanced technologies into existing operational workflows.
  • Maintain strong relationships and clear communication across business units, corporate departments, and IT/IS leadership.
  • Translate operational concepts into structured data requirements and analytical models for project managers and business stakeholders.
  • Analyze complex system and hardware application issues, diagnose root causes, and implement long-term technical fixes.
  • Perform thorough unit, integration, and user-acceptance testing to guarantee solution quality, safety, and reliability.
  • Coordinate and facilitate team deliverables to meet project timelines, budget constraints, and strategic milestones.
  • Ensure clear, proactive communication regarding project progress, operational impacts, and change management strategies across divisions.
  • Document technical architectures, business processes, and system workflows to maintain enterprise knowledge bases.
  • Manage data ingestion, transformation, and configuration to support business intelligence tools and real-time process monitoring.
  • Maintain analytics data integrity across all operational divisions and enterprise systems.
  • Write, optimize, and execute complex SQL queries, scripts, and data extracts to support business reporting and analytical demands.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical work experience).

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive experience working with industrial data systems, systems analysis, and enterprise IT/OT solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Direct experience in the setup, configuration, administration, and scaling of historian systems and communications architectures (Canary Labs Historian and Kepware/OPC or similar) is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of databases, data modeling, and query languages, specifically SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQLite.
  • Strong proficiency in programming and scripting languages for automation and integration (e.g. PowerShell, C# .NET, JavaScript, Go, or Python).
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts within industrial or process control environments.
  • Experience with IoT technologies, telematics solutions, edge devices, and remote data collection platforms (e.g., GeoTab, Eroad/Coretex, Lytx).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, business intelligence reporting, and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SSRS/SSIS).
  • Familiarity with applied research, statistical analysis, and basic financial metrics related to operational efficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively within consensus-driven decision processes while prioritizing multiple concurrent project deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer-service mindset.
