About the Role

We are seeking an energetic, highly analytical, and hands-on IT Audit Manager to lead the execution and management of GFL's IT Internal Audit and SOX compliance program. This high-visibility role requires a unique blend of technical audit expertise, project management agility, and executive presence to guide newly acquired business units through control transformation and maintain a robust internal control environment across our diverse operational landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
  • IT SOX Program Management: Lead annual IT SOX scoping exercises to map material financial accounts to supporting IT infrastructure and databases.

  • Control Testing Oversight: Direct and perform design and operating effectiveness testing (DET/OET) for ITGCs across corporate systems, including ERPs, HRIS, and Financial applications.

  • Reporting & Remediation: Document control deficiencies, partner with system owners to design remediation strategies, and monitor implementation progress.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors to streamline evidence delivery and ensure alignment on testing methodologies.

  • M&A Integration: Perform ITGC diagnostic reviews and control harmonization for newly acquired entities to support GFL's aggressive growth strategy.

Required

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive IT audit experience, including proven leadership or managerial capacity.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is required.

  • Direct experience auditing tier-one ERPs and underlying OS/databases.

  • Deep understanding of SOX Section 404, COBIT, NIST, and PCAOB auditing standards.

Desired/good to have

  • Additional credentials (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISSP, CISM) are highly advantageous.

  • A background in Big Four or mid-tier public accounting advisory is strongly preferred.
