The IT and Systems Manager is responsible for maintaining all computer networks, information systems, and ERP infrastructure for a manufacturing and machining operation. This role ensures daily system health, provides hands on help desk support, and leads technology improvements that enhance productivity, security, and operational efficiency. The position requires strong ERP experience, the ability to read and modify code, and a solid understanding of system administration. The manager will oversee hardware/software lifecycle planning, coordinate with external consultants for major upgrades, and support custom applications tied to the ERP system.

They bring strong help desk experience, deep ERP knowledge, and the ability to understand, modify, or develop code when needed. They stay ahead of hardware/software end of life timelines, communicate clearly with users, and balance system stability with continuous improvement. They are proactive, organized, and comfortable leading ERP discussions, upgrades, and user driven enhancement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance, security, and network health; perform troubleshooting and maintenance as needed
- Provide prompt help desk support for desktops, printers, user issues, and general IT needs
- Identify areas requiring hardware or software upgrades and recommend improvements
- Test and evaluate hardware/software for efficiency, reliability, and compatibility
- Maintain and administer MS Office 365, MS Teams, and Teams based phone systems
- Educate users on best practices and effective use of technology resources
- Analyze systems for security and integrity against external threats
- Maintain ERP system, including software, hardware, and existing customizations
- Write or modify code (Visual Studio, SQL, TSQL) to support ERP customizations and user requests
- Build or update reports, and one off enhancements as needed
- Maintain custom applications linked to ERP modules and ensure functionality during upgrades
- Support document scanning workflows and attachments within ERP modules
- Manage desktop security, patches, antivirus protections, and email security tools (e.g., Mimecast)
- Stay ahead of hardware/software end of life timelines and coordinate with external consultants for major upgrades
- Evaluate new ERP versions (e.g., Kinetics), test in pilot environments, and assess customization impacts
- Lead monthly ERP user meetings, gather requirements, evaluate requests, and balance practicality with user needs
- Support internal projects, upgrades, and technology initiatives based on operational feedback
- Review and maintain Disaster Recovery plans and ensure readiness

Qualifications
Required:
- 3–5 years of experience in an IT environment
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
