Reports to: Clinical Systems Manager
Job Summary: The Clinical Systems Specialist is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, optimization, and support of clinical applications and health information systems across the organization. The Clinical Systems Specialist works closely with clinical staff, quality teams, IT, and vendors to ensure that systems are effectively integrated into clinical workflows, meet regulatory standards, and support high-quality patient care.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Serve as the primary contact and application expert for clinical systems, including Epic.

  • Provide frontline support to clinical users, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and escalation as needed.

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain training for new hires and existing staff on clinical systems usage, workflows, and updates.

  • Assist with system configuration, clinical workflow design, and optimization to align with operational goals and compliance requirements.

  • Coordinate and perform user acceptance testing (UAT) for system upgrades, patches, and new implementations.

  • Maintain knowledge of clinical documentation standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., UDS, HEDIS, HRSA), and industry best practices.

  • Assist employees with password resets, account unlocks, multi-factor authentication (MFA) support, and user access requests in accordance with organizational security policies.

  • Provide entry level technical support and education as appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned.
