Job description

This is a full-time position working onsite in Des Moines, IA. Candidate must live within a reasonable commute of Des Moines, IA or be able to relocate.
The Security Engineer will Support Senior Engineers in operational efforts of the security stack. They will provide infrastructure and security support for our entire virtual server and datacenter environment that included hybrid cloud infrastructure and security. Administer and troubleshoot Office365 Cloud applications. Participate in licensing and software maintenance activities to ensure compliance, patching, and overall security. Perform trouble ticket resolution within defined SLA's and documented procedures. Participate in disaster recovery testing exercises. Participate in on-call rotation for critical security event escalations. Lead security related implementation projects and manage work efforts of other team members in a cross-functional team environment. Must be able to navigate and adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment with a cross-functional team of like-minded Information Technology professionals.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, execute and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
  • Participate in the design of computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.
  • Identify, define and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
  • Configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
  • Install and manage software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
  • Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures. Respond to incidents and Security related tickets in a timely manner. Participate in on-call activities.
  • Performing manual validation of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) manually or with Microsoft's Defender platform. Perform and monitor remediation of vulnerabilities collaborating with other teams.
  • Assist in planning, development, and implementation of company's information security strategy. Educate and train staff on information system security best practices. Develop security training materials and communications.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
Course of Study: STEM related discipline, including Informatcis, Data Analytics, Information Systems, and/or Security/Cybersecurity
Experience: 3 - 5 years, System Administration or Information Security Administration or Engineering.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systems. In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles. Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems.
