Job description

At Datadog, People Operations is more than just human resources-it's a data-driven team dedicated to constantly improving the way we hire, develop, and support our most valuable asset: our people. Our People Operations team are strategic problem solvers who work closely with leadership and employees to ensure that Datadog keeps scaling smoothly and remains a great place to work.
Datadog is seeking a HRIS Manager who will be responsible for managing and supporting projects within People Technology. This hands-on technical role demands excellent knowledge of HR business processes and methodologies along with a strong analytical and reporting background.
A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of Workday and the ability to focus on one or more of the functional areas in People Operations. This will include the ability to assess systems and business processes, coordinate with peers, project managers, and management on impacts to other Datadog systems or business processes. You will play a critical role in the continued deployment of new functionality, developing solutions and enabling the continued growth of Datadog.
At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.
What You'll Do:
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for your pod's systems and processes-from gathering requirements and designing solutions through testing, delivery, and adoption.
  • Serve as the Workday subject matter expert for your domain, advising stakeholders on configuration best practices, optimization opportunities, and governance.
  • Assess when Workday is the right tool and when a specialized third-party platform better serves the business. You'll partner with stakeholders on those decisions and own the requirements that follow.
  • Understand integration concepts well enough to make informed build-vs-buy decisions and clearly define requirements for our integrations team-you won't be building integrations, but you'll know why they're needed and what they need to do.
  • Design, build, and maintain custom Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to surface the right data to the right people at the right time.
  • Partner cross-functionally with IT, Finance, Business Operations, and global People teams to align on requirements, recommend solutions, and drive delivery.
  • Identify and drive AI and automation opportunities within your domain-reducing manual work and increasing the intelligence of your systems.
  • Manage testing and quality assurance, including regression testing for system updates, new configurations, and third-party changes.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, change management materials, and training resources that drive adoption across the People team and the broader organization.
  • Manage projects independently-scoping, communicating, and delivering with sound judgment about when to escalate.

Who You Are:
  • 7+ years of hands-on HRIS experience with deep Workday knowledge across one or more functional areas. Workday Pro certification is a plus.
  • A systems thinker who evaluates the full People tech ecosystem-not just what's possible in Workday, but what's the right solution for the business, whether that's native configuration, a third-party tool, or a smarter process.
  • Technically fluent enough to understand integrations, data flows, and downstream impacts-so you can make good decisions and write clear requirements, even when someone else does the building.
  • Skilled at translating ambiguous business problems into clear, scalable HRIS solutions. You ask the right questions before writing a single business process step.
  • Experienced in end-to-end Workday implementation and enhancement work, including project management, stakeholder communication, and change management.
  • Knowledgeable in Workday security model design and configuration, with an understanding of how security decisions affect user experience, compliance, and downstream systems.
  • Curious about AI, automation, and emerging HR technology-and proactive about finding opportunities to apply them.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment, adapting when requirements shift, and escalating with good judgment.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you're passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
Benefits and Growth:
  • Generous and competitive global benefits
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan
  • Continuous career development and pathing opportunities
  • Product training to develop an in-depth understanding of our product and space
  • Best in breed onboarding
  • Internal mentor and buddy program cross-departmentally
  • Friendly and inclusive workplace culture

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
