Job description

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a Medical Information Specialist to support our medical partner in Morrisville, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with customer service, medical information, life sciences, or healthcare experience who are passionate about providing technical and medical information support while ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements. In this role, you will respond to product-related inquiries, document interactions, and manage adverse event and product complaint intake while delivering exceptional customer service.
The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $20.50 per hour. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Schedule

  1. Rotating shifts available.

  2. Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. EST

Position Summary
The Medical Information Specialist provides technical and medical information support while delivering high-quality customer service. This role is responsible for responding to product-related inquiries, documenting and analyzing interactions, and managing adverse event and product complaint intake in accordance with organizational, client, and regulatory requirements. Information is provided at a level consistent with the individual's education, training, experience, and expertise.
Key Responsibilities

  1. Respond professionally and accurately to technical and medical information inquiries received via phone, email, web-based platforms, or mail regarding pharmaceutical and medical device products.

  2. Process information requests, fulfill documentation needs, provide clinical trial information, and support after-hours on-call activities as required.

  3. Analyze customer inquiries and formulate concise, accurate responses using approved resources and reference materials.

  4. Document inquiries, responses, and customer interactions in designated databases while adhering to company, client, and regulatory standards.

  5. Identify, document, and appropriately triage adverse events and product complaints in compliance with established procedures and regulations.

  6. Conduct follow-up activities related to adverse events, product complaints, and customer inquiries as needed.

  7. Maintain current knowledge of client products, company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), and applicable regulatory requirements.

  8. Collaborate with internal teams and external client contacts to resolve complex inquiries and ensure timely issue resolution.

  9. Research medical literature and assist in drafting responses for specialized inquiries when required.

  10. Provide administrative and operational support as assigned.

Qualifications
Education

  1. High school diploma, secondary school diploma, or equivalent required.

  2. Relevant academic, vocational, or technical qualifications preferred.

  3. Technical positions may require additional certification.

Experience

  1. Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  2. At least one (1) year of experience, education, or training in medical, healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or related fields preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  2. Strong language proficiency, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.

  3. Fluency in a second language may be required depending on business needs.

  4. Proficient computer and keyboarding skills.

  5. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  7. Ability to interpret and communicate complex medical and technical information.

  8. Effective organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.

  9. Ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude in challenging situations.

  10. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.


Pay Details: $20.50 per hour
