The Medical Dosimetrist is principally involved with the planning and quality assurance of radiation treatments to patients. The dosimetrist acts under the direction of the medical physicist and radiation oncologist.
Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in a related science, ARRT registration in Radiation Therapy Technology or CMD registration, eligibility for registration by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board.
Knowledge and familiarity with radiation oncology equipment and radioactive materials.
Preferred:
Certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board.
Previous experience as a dosimetrist in a clinical radiation oncology setting.
LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
