Job description

OverviewManages the day-to-day operations of various areas of Imaging to include off-site locations of the hospital. Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, monitoring staff performance, providing staff education, and implementing and directing Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement activities for the department. Participates in department budget preparation and management. Acts as a liaison between customers, technical staff, medical staff, and other departments within the hospital.Able to provide complex nursing care, which includes the monitoring and administering of medications required during procedures. Performs related record-keeping and patient care functions and serves as patient advocate. Ensures proper education and training to staff and patients. Provides supervisory skills consistent with creativity, attention to detail and consistent follow through.Responsibilities
  • Supervises the daily departmental nursing activities including quality patient care and the scheduling of personnel.
  • Functions as IR/CATH coordinator, working with the IR Team and scheduling to ensure patients are properly scheduled and prepared for their upcoming procedures.
  • Oversees orientation, continuing education, competency files and RN licensure for nursing staff.
  • Ensures attendance at mandatory staff meetings.
  • Establishes departmental goals and objectives with input from team members.
  • Assists PI coordinator with activities providing monthly statistical data and analysis.
  • Supervises departmental patient/staff/physician satisfaction.
  • Manages financial responsibility and contains costs containment for Imaging Nursing Services.
  • Supervises supply utilization and the ordering of supplies.
  • Supervises medication management policies and procedure for nursing staff.
  • Oversees and educates patients, family and staff.
  • Utilizes hospital and departmental computer systems effectively.
  • Assists in evaluation of staff performance.
  • May oversee CV as well. 
Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required

Work Experience

  • 5 years nursing experience in a hospital (inpatient roles) or clinical (outpatient roles) setting Required
  • Critical care background and previous nursing supervisory experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required 
  • ACLS Upon Hire Required
