Job description

What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Structural CAD Technician, you'll play a key role in bringing vital infrastructure projects to life. You'll provide technical drafting expertise and support the development of plans for a diverse portfolio of municipal and transportation bridge projects. Collaborating closely with project managers and engineers, you'll help review and refine engineering drawing packages while contributing to everything from early planning and preliminary concepts to detailed designs and permitting documentation.

What You'll Do:

  • Review and interpret construction plans, detailed drawings, and technical figures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with design standards.
  • Transform conceptual sketches, redlines, and markups into fully developed, high-quality CAD drawings ready for project use and client delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive engineering drawings for both preliminary and final plan sets, ensuring consistency and adherence to project requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and fellow drafters to coordinate design elements and resolve discrepancies across disciplines.
  • Assist in the preparation and compilation of technical reports, design documentation, and supporting project deliverables.
  • Incorporate revisions and feedback efficiently, maintaining drawing integrity while supporting project timelines and quality expectations.

What You'll Need:

  • 1+ years of related structural CAD experience, preferrably within transportation engineering.
  • Proficiency with some or all of the following:
    • AutoCAD
    • Civil3D
    • Microstation.
  • This office job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise.
  • While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include constant sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over to 35 lbs.
