Job description

PeaceHealth is seeking a Biomed Imaging Tech II for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $53.40 - $53.40. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.
Job Summary
Ensure and maintain the quality, safety and performance of imaging, radiology and ancillary equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections and other equipment related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for equipment performance to include ensuring the safety and performance of general radiology equipment including portables, c-arms, rad/chest rooms, rad/fluoro rooms and mammography and other ancillary hospital equipment by verifying proper operation, troubleshooting computer hardware and networking systems for Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Radiography (CR), and PACS environments, performing preventive maintenance inspections and accurately complete equipment repairs as assigned.
  • Maintain configuration data for data communication equipment/networks and computer systems during routine maintenance work and submit change reports.
  • Responsible for equipment operations to include ensuring the safety and performance of life support, diagnostic, therapeutic and ancillary hospital equipment by verifying proper operation, perform preventive maintenance inspections and accurately complete equipment repairs as assigned.
  • Contribute to the accurate and timely reporting of equipment maintenance history by documenting preventive maintenance inspection, repair services and other department activity as required in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Monitor supply and equipment usage. Make recommendations for cost containment. Make appropriate charges for services rendered and supplies used. Coordinate outside repairs.
  • Actively participate in on-call duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education
  • Associate Degree Required: Biomedical Technology Or
  • Associate Degree Required: Electronics Or
  • Associate Degree Required: Physics Or
  • Associate Degree Required: U.S Military Biomedical Or
  • Technical Program Required: And
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Biomedical Instrumentation Technology

Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years Required: Experience with general radiology equipment including portables, c-arms, rad/chest rooms, rad/fluoro rooms and networking computer systems for DR, CR and PACS environments and
  • Required: Understanding of imaging medical applications and procedures (or may have equivalent combination of education and/or experience)

Credentials
  • Preferred: Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist
