Job description

Cyber Security Liasons are key players in ensuring efficient operation, adherence to overarching cybersecurity directives and rules of operation, and security of the organization's computer systems and allocated network resources. This role involves a diverse set of responsibilities encompassing network object audits, system administration, and cybersecurity measures. Network and Computer Systems Administrator provide technical support to government customers, maintain computer systems, printers, VoIP, user account and permissions management, video telecommunications/teleconference system support, ISSO and Cybersecurity Liaison duties, documentation submission (appointment letters, access requests, etc.). This role requires strong customer service skills, advanced technical aptitude, and experience with government inventory management and computer systems. The Technician will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, provide user training, and ensure accurate IT asset tracking and documentation. Maintaining excellent customer relations and ensuring compliance with established procedures are integral functions of this role. 

Responsibilities: 

Key responsibilities include computer maintenance, system administration, application of security measures, network object management, user support, backup, and recovery activities, monitoring local, USAF, and DoD computer health and status reporting tools, applying remediation measures, documentation, collaboration with IT teams, and capacity planning. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of providing excellent customer service and strong technical skills.

Equipment/Systems:

This position requires frequent use of computers, printers, and various software applications. Experience with MS Office products, ticketing systems, and IT asset management software is essential.

Competencies: The Network and Computer Systems Administrator role requires superior attention to detail, accuracy, excellent listening skills, and effective communication. Strong technical proficiency in computer hardware, software, and networking is also required. The ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently is critical, as most work will be completed within a secure area.


Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This job operates primarily in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Duties may require lifting of computer equipment, using ladders, walking large office buildings, and loading/unloading of boxes, containers, or trucks.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time exempt position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, regular business hours; additional hours as needed to ensure performance across the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and Information systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or similar IT related fields
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140 certification.
  • 7+ years of experience in government cyber related support.
  • Experience with computer hardware, software, VoIP, VTC, and printer maintenance.

 Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience with government IT asset management (ITAM) systems.
  • Net+ Certification or other relevant technical certifications.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

  • Requires active Secret clearance from the U.S. Government depending on position
