Description:
  • Troubleshoots and repairs magnetic panels, digital interfaces, NC and CNC machine tool controls, drives, servos, and electrical sub-systems.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs printed circuit boards to the component level.
  • Designs, modifies, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all electrical systems found throughout the facility.
  • Creates, adds, modifies, and rewrites PLC programming for the facility equipment.
  • Ensures that all electrical and electronic work performed conformed to the company’s blueprints, specifications, and guidelines and meets or exceeds guidelines mandated by OSHA, NEC, and NFPA-78.
  • Uses oscilloscopes, frequency counters/generators, meg-ohm meters, waveform monitors, multi-meters and computer-aided circuit design, diagnostic software, and computers to maintain the facility’s electronic and electrical equipment.
  • Requisition tools, electrical equipment, components, and supplies to ensure that all repairs can be performed in a timely manner.
  • Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on production and facilities equipment and recommends additional necessary maintenance that may be required to optimize the safety of the facility’s equipment.
  • Assists other maintenance personnel in the diagnostics and repair of the facility’s equipment.
  • Evaluates electrical prints and circuitry of new or proposed equipment to ensure its safety and serviceability and recommend changes where applicable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent work ethic and dependability.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
SPECIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a skills assessment examination successfully.
  • Journeyman’s Card or equivalent from a recognized state or trade organization and two (2) additional years of experience in electrical or electronic fields. -Or- A two (2) year associate degree in electronics and two years of related experience and/or training
  • Must be able to work a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT UTILIZED:
  • Analytical tools such as, but not limited to, multimeters, oscilloscopes, process calibrators and meters, transducers, thermocouples, load cells, transmitters, flow meters, pressure gauges and torque tool devices.
  • Hardware such as, but not limited to, DC power supplies, relays, pumps, valves, filters, regulators, analog and digital I/O boards, signal conditioning, stepping and servo motors, silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCR’s), variable speed AC and DC motor drives, heat exchangers and various types of PLC’s.
  • Communication protocols such as, but not limited to, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, HART, Ethernet, and wireless devices.
  • Up to 480 VAC 3-phase power equipment and wiring.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effectively communicate to production team members on process information.
  • Effectively coach and train other maintenance team members.
  • Effectively present information and respond professionally to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and other public groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
