What You Will Do

  • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.

  • Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
    Produces products according to specifications, using the most cost effective and efficient means. Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components. Includes power generation, transmission and distribution, rotating machinery, illumination, wire communication systems and servomechanisms.

  • Includes circuit theory, computer design and development, instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, and television systems.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Professional electrical engineering design experience to include electronic design, troubleshooting, analysis, and test (circuit card level through systems level)

  • Experience using electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as: Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, Creo Schematic, Xilinx Vivado, or equivalent

  • Experience using test equipment, such as: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Network Analyzers, Power Meters, etc.

  • Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics, or performing advanced FPGA firmware development (VHDL, or Verilog).

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Due to the nature of our business, remote work is not possible.

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Experience leading focused multi-disciplinary teams doing hardware integration to include tasking responsibility

  • Experience working with programming real-time operating systems or embedded systems Excellent technical writing and formal presentation experience A working knowledge of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques

  • Experience with developing and implementing programming languages

  • Experience utilizing integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software Ability and willingness to utilize existing designs as a starting point to interface with new units under test (UUTs) and UUT configurations when necessary

  • Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis

  • Experience performing analog, digital, and/or RF design, or VHDL/Verilog development for FPGAs.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
